How it all began
Keswick Adventure Centre is owned and managed by Alastair, a man whose heart lies in the outdoors. His desire to show others the adventure that the hills and mountains have to offer stems from over 11 years in the Royal Air Force, followed by 6 years in Secondary Education.
Gaining qualifications in Rock Climbing lead to him establishing the Mountaineering Club at RAF Coningsby in the 90's. This went on to him organising and running weekly expeditions, with his most enjoyable being to Lundy in the Bristol Channel.
His enthusiasm continued into Education where he took on the role of Duke of Edinburgh Co-ordinator at both of the schools where he taught. He also ran the Adventure Activities trip to North Wales each year too. As if that wasn't enough he then went on to become a Canoe & Kayak Coach, again to teach others the joys of his hobbies.
'It was a natural progression' he says when asked why he runs his own Outdoor Adventure Centre, 'Something that I have always wanted to do'.
His personality and professionalism are magnets to others in the industry and as such our extended team are all hand selected to deliver your activities in the same fun filled, high quality professional way that he does.
